A blend of history and culture
One thing I learned when I travel to Asian countries is the richness of their culture and history. That’s how I also prepared myself when I am about to travel for the very first time to Hanoi, Vietnam.
Hanoi is the second largest city in Vietnam but travelers spend most of their time in Old Hanoi. This is where you get to feel and see the remnants of the French ruling age with their old churches, opera houses, and even French colonial buildings. It is a blend of Asian and European influence with a strong traditional Vietnamese that makes it enticing.
I was very lucky when I get to join the Manila-Hanoi inaugural flight of the flag-carrier Philippine Airlines. I was privileged with a comfortable Business Class seat together with the executives on board.
Are you a one-time traveler or are you a fond returnee?
It was in 2017 when I first traveled with my cousins and a friend. The first country in mind was of course--Thailand. We were so excited that we prepared for a couple of months for our trip. I was the one who handled our itinerary while the others looked for our hotel accommodation and other necessities.
Researching about the must-visit places and must-try food choices in Bangkok, Thailand was really fun and educating. It's what keeps me psyched and ready since I am the lead navigator of the group as we travel our way to this Asian country we always hear about in travel stories and television dramas.
We were all amazed when we finally saw how simple life is in this country. It is not as complicated as how other countries are and we actually feel as if we are home.
But what's with this country that really makes me want to come back for more?
